"Fate/ZEXAL" is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tomohiro Watanebe. It is a part of the larger "Fate" franchise, which includes various series and media related to the "Fate" universe. "Fate/ZEXAL" is the eleventh series in the "Fate" franchise and was published in Shueisha's "Jump SQ. Jump" manga magazine from April 2009 to February 2013.

The series focuses on the story of an ordinary middle school boy named Shiro Emiya, who dreams of having the perfect life. After being targeted by a criminal organization, he finds himself being offered help from a strange entity known as "Fate". He learns that he can wish for anything, as long as it does not exceed the power of his own will, through the power of the "Fate System" and the "Fate Gear" which he received after surviving an assassination attempt.

"Fate/ZEXAL" differs from the other "Fate" series, particularly "Fate/stay night", by using a different story and character setup, focusing on the "Fate/Zero" universe rather than the "Fate/stay night" universe. It introduces new characters and a unique magical system, while also sharing certain elements, such as the concept of "Fate Wars" and Servants, which are heroes from myth and legend bound to a Master by means of a ritual to fight for a desired goal.

The manga was adapted into an anime series produced by ufotable, which aired from October 2011 to March 2012. Additionally, there have been various video games and other media related to "Fate/ZEXAL", further expanding the story and characters within the "Fate" universe.
