
The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, originated from the traditional Chinese tale of Qu Yuan, a loyal minister who drowned himself in the river after being betrayed by his king. People raced dragon boats to save him, and they also threw zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) into the river to feed the fish, hoping to keep them from eating Qu Yuan's body.
